The Road Safety World Series T20 2020 has had a great start. The legends of the game representing their countries have proved that class is permanent and age is no barrier when it comes to playing for their nations. Hosts India Legends have started the tournament well defeating West Indies Legends by 7 wickets. Sri Lanka Legends also come into this game after a thrilling 7 run win over Australia Legends and this would make them very confident ahead of the clash with India.

The only area of concern for Sri Lanka Legends would be the fact that none of their batsmen could build on the start they got in the last game and this led to a lower score than the side would have expected in the last game. India Legends would have a packed house cheering for them in the next game and this is likely to play a big role in the next game.

Sachin Tendulkar’s side started the tournament on a positive note defeating the West Indies Legends comprehensively by 7 wickets in the game. They batted extremely well in the game which would have made the skipper happy with the efforts of his side. Going into the next game Tendulkar would be expecting better efforts with the ball from his new ball bowlers.

The legendary pair of Sachin Tendulkar and Virender Sehwag played well in the last game with the latter playing a match winning innings. Middle order is strong for the side with Mohammad Kaif, Yuvraj Singh and Sameer Dighe in the side. With Irfan Pathan and Manpreet Gony in the lower order the side has a strong batting line-up.

Their bowlers went for few runs early in the game and the side would expect a better show from Zaheer Khan and Manpreet Gony with the new ball. Munaf Patel and Pragyan Ojha look in good form at the moment. With Yuvraj, Irfan Pathan and Sairaj Bahutule in the squad they have good depth in their bowling.

Sachin Tendulkar, Yuvraj Singh and Virender Sehwag will be the three players Indian team would count on the most in this game.

Expected Playing XI:

Sachin Tendulkar (c), Virender Sehwag, Mohammad Kaif, Sameer Dighe (wk), Yuvraj Singh, Irfan Pathan, Zaheer Khan, Munaf Patel, Pragyan Ojha, Sairaj Bahutule, Manpreet Gony

Tillakaratne Dilshan would be happy with the performance his side put up in the last game against the Australian Legends. They batted first to put up a decent score on the board but it was their bowlers who came up with an excellent effort not allowing the opponents to settle in. They are up against a side that comes into the game after a big win and shall have to play exceedingly well to win this one.

They will expect a good start from Romesh Kaluwitharana and Dilshan. Both these players got good starts in the last game and shall be looking to play big knocks. Chamara Kapugedera, Marvan Atapattu and Upul Chandana are good middle order players and the side would look at them to build partnerships. Sachithra Senanayake, Ajantha Mendis and Farveez Maharoof add strength to the batting down the order.

Their bowlers had a great day in the last game with Chaminda Vaas and Dilshan bowling well with the new ball. They will look to repeat that show in the next game. Rangana Herath and Maharoof also bowled tight spells in the last game. With Muttiah Muralitharan in the side the team would count on its chances against the strong batting line-up that India has.

Expected Playing XI :

Tillakaratne Dilshan (c), Marvan Atapattu, Chamara Kapugedera, Romesh Kaluwitharana (wk), Upul Chandana, Farveez Maharoof, Sachithra Senanayake, Chaminda Vaas, Rangana Herath, Muttiah Muralitharan, Ajantha Mendis

Both the games played so far in the tournament have seen lots of runs. The wickets have been flat and there hasn’t been much for the bowlers. With both the sides having strong batting line-ups at their disposal we expect the side winning the toss to bat first and put up a big score on the board.

The pitch at the DY Patil Stadium has been a good one to bat on in both the games played so far. The bounce and pace on the surface has been true and the ball has come on to the bat nicely during the game. There hasn’t been much assistance for the fast bowlers but the spinners have done well on this surface so far.

It will be a warm evening in Mumbai with the skies expected to be clear during the game. The conditions would be slightly windy with the temperature expected to be 27℃ at the start of the game. There is forecast for 57% humidity and 10% precipitation during the game.

India Legends are coming into this game with a very powerful batting line-up and on a flat surface they would be expected to perform better than the Sri Lanka Legends as the latter’s batsmen didn’t look at their best form in the last game.

Sri Lanka Legends have a very strong bowling attack and this is something the Indian team would be worried about. Their spinners can cause lot of trouble for the Indian batting and the side will be looking to make use of this strength.

However we believe India Legends have better balance in their team and with the crowds cheering for the side they would start favourites in the next game.
